How to Care for Handmade Wooden Kitchen and Dining Pieces

Wood brings warmth to a table, but it responds to water, heat and dryness differently from glass or metal.

Wash quickly and dry promptly

Do not soak wooden serving pieces or leave them in standing water.

Wipe or hand-wash briefly according to the supplied guidance, then dry with airflow around the surface.

Avoid the dishwasher

Dishwashers combine prolonged water, heat and strong detergent, which can distort, split or dull handmade wood.

Keep wooden pieces away from sustained direct heat and strong sun.

Natural grain is not a defect

Colour, grain and small tonal differences are part of real wood.

Handmade pieces also carry minor variations in curve and finish.
